European Police Arrest 85 in Major Drug Network Bust

European police, led by Europol, conducted a successful operation against a synthetic drug network spanning Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, and Spain. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 85 suspects, including two alleged ringleaders in Poland.

The operation involved dismantling 24 industrial-scale labs and seizing around 1,000 tons of chemicals used in producing drugs like MDMA and meth. Andi Kraag, head of Europol's European Serious Organised Crime Centre, highlighted the significant blow dealt to organized crime groups involved in drug trafficking.

The operation aimed to disrupt the supply chain of synthetic drugs and address associated health risks, violence, corruption, and environmental damage.
