Nigerian singer Portable has stirred controversy by calling out music executive Don Jazzy, suggesting that artists who leave Mavin Records lose their prominence in the music scene. In a video that quickly went viral, Portable raised doubts about why former signees, including Rema, are no longer dominating the industry.

He pointed out that Tiwa Savage remains successful, implying that proper guidance from the label is crucial for boosting an artist's career. Additionally, Portable referenced Crayon, who joined Mavin Records in 2019, and claimed that Don Jazzy was involved in circumstances surrounding Crayon's mother's death and alleged that he did not receive royalties owed to him.

Crayon hinted at plans to expose further details regarding the operations of the label.
