Tinubu Resolves MMA2 Dispute, Boosts Investor Confidence

Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), praised President Bola Tinubu for resolving a protracted concession dispute concerning Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Lagos.

This resolution is seen as a major boost to investor confidence and marks a new era for public-private partnerships (PPPs) in Nigeria. Ewalefoh emphasized that the resolution underscores the administration's commitment to upholding the sanctity of contracts, which is critical for enhancing Nigeria's credibility as a reliable investment destination.

The dispute, which involved disagreements between the federal government and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) regarding exclusive development clauses, has been resolved through a coordinated process involving multiple stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The outcome has removed restrictive provisions and restored clarity to the concession framework, paving the way for new aviation infrastructure projects, including the proposed Lekki Airport.
