Malami Secures ADC Nomination for Kebbi Governorship Race

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has acquired a governorship nomination form from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as he prepares to contest in the 2027 Kebbi State governorship election. In a statement released on Saturday via social media, Malami expressed his decision to enter the race, highlighting the severe issues facing Kebbi State, including rising insecurity, poverty, poor healthcare, declining educational standards, and economic hardship.

He referenced alarming statistics, noting that 67 percent of children aged six to fifteen are out of school, and 88 percent of children in the state live in multidimensional poverty. Malami raised concerns about the high maternal mortality rate and the lack of access to essential medical services in rural communities.

He accused the current administration of misplacing priorities during a time when citizens are grappling with hardship and insecurity. As an ADC governorship aspirant, Malami pledged to prioritize security, quality education, healthcare improvement, and youth empowerment, calling for support from the people of Kebbi State to rebuild a safer and more prosperous society.
