Aminu Danmaliki Joins PRP from APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Aminu Danmaliki, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Bauchi Federal Constituency, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He announced his defection during a press briefing on Saturday, stating that his decision was based on “careful reflection, sincere consultation and prayerful consideration.” Danmaliki emphasized that his move was driven by principles rather than political convenience, asserting that it was about prioritizing the needs of the people over personal power.

He expressed no resentment towards the APC and highlighted the pressing economic challenges facing Nigeria, including hunger, unemployment, and inadequate healthcare. Danmaliki praised the PRP for its commitment to social justice and accountability.

He also endorsed Senator Shehu Buba as the PRP candidate for the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election and called for support from various community groups to foster issue-based campaigns.
