Paddi Iyamu Declares Candidacy for Oredo Reps Seat

Paddi Iyamu, a former commissioner in Edo State, formally declared his intent to run for the Oredo Federal House of Representatives seat on Friday at the Progress Congress secretariat in Oredo Local Government Area. The declaration event was attended by party leaders and stakeholders, showcasing significant support for Iyamu.

He dismissed claims of not being a grassroots politician, citing his long-standing contributions to the APC in Oredo since 2016. Iyamu emphasized his past electoral efforts, including mobilizing voters and empowering women and youth through various initiatives.

He noted the success of the women empowerment program in 2019 and his ongoing support for youth leaders. Iyamu described allegations against him as politically motivated and false.

The APC chairman for Oredo, Dr. Osamudiamen Osarenkho, called for unity among party members and praised Iyamu as a loyal party member who respects leadership.

Dignitaries at the event included former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Ambassador Uyi Igbinedion, and other notable APC members.
