Alia Initiates 40km Road Reconstruction in Benue State

Dr. Felix Atum, the former Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), praised Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for initiating the reconstruction of the 40-kilometer Makurdi-Naka federal road.

Atum described this move as a significant step towards addressing persistent issues of banditry and kidnapping along this strategic highway. The chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area, Hon.

Victor Ormin, noted that Governor Alia's directive recently led a team of engineers from China Harbour Engineering Company Limited, headed by Engr. Ronaldo Lee, to assess the dilapidated road ahead of its reconstruction.

Atum emphasized that the reconstruction is a humanitarian intervention aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by residents and road users. He expressed confidence in the capacity of China Harbour Engineering Company Limited to deliver a quality project and appealed to the residents of Gwer West and neighboring communities to cooperate with the state government and contractor to ensure the project's success and timely completion.
