Former Imo Deputy Governor Madumere Joins PDP

Ezra Madumere, the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, has announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People's Democratic Party (PDP). In a letter presented to the PDP in Imo State, Madumere expressed that his decision was driven by a desire to unite individuals and restore democratic rights for citizens.

He pledged his commitment to youth empowerment and transparent governance, stating that when a political platform no longer serves its purpose, it is essential to build anew. Madumere's exit from the APC follows extensive consultations with family and mentors, and he acknowledged the opportunities he received while serving as Deputy Governor.

However, he criticized the APC for its internal conflicts, ideological loss, and marginalization of loyal members, which he believes hindered his ability to fulfill promises to the people. He emphasized that his departure was necessary rather than malicious, marking a significant moment in his political career.
