ADC National Convention: Imoke and Tambuwal Lead

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) convened its national convention, establishing a 22-member National Convention Central Coordinating Committee (NCCCC). Liyel Imoke, a former governor of Cross River State, was appointed as chair, with Aminu Tambuwal, a former governor of Sokoto State, serving as vice-chair.

The committee will support 339 members across 11 standing committees. Key figures in attendance included former Imo State governor Emeka Ihedioha and retired police commissioner Tajudeen Bakar.

The ADC is determined to proceed with its national convention despite a court ruling and the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) stance, which the party accuses of partisanship. David Mark, leading the ADC's National Working Committee (NWC), plans to challenge INEC's decisions in court, asserting that they undermine democracy and threaten opposition parties.

The convention is scheduled for Tuesday, with the party maintaining that INEC lacks constitutional authority to interpret court rulings.
