Ex-IG Arase Dies of Cancer, Mourned by Leaders

Former Inspector General of Police Solomon Ehigiator Arase passed away at the age of 69 after battling cancer. He died at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja, where he had been receiving treatment.

Arase, who modernized the Nigeria Police Force during his tenure, was praised by various individuals and organizations, including President Bola Tinubu and the Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC). His son, Solomon Osabohien Arase Jnr, confirmed his death, highlighting his father's dedication and professionalism.

Arase's reforms within the police force were commended for bringing lasting changes and modernization to the institution.
