Ajakaye Wins APC Ticket for Kwara Federal Constituency

Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He won the primary election held on a Saturday, receiving a total of 707 votes from 2,195 accredited voters. Ajakaye defeated nine other aspirants, including Hon.

Ismail Kayod, who received zero votes. Other candidates and their respective vote counts included Mr.

Tajudeen Abioy with 493 votes, Mr. Kayod Adebiyi Abdulhakeem with 370 votes, Mr.

Akintund Shittu with 216 votes, Mr. Oyekunl Gbenga with 191 votes, Mr.

Ademola Bello with 104 votes, Mr. Abiodun Azeez with 50 votes, Mr.

Owoniyi Abiodun Azeez with 40 votes, and Mr. Ayoola Fakunl with 25 votes.

The results were announced by Mr. Afeez Olagunju, a former media aide to the governor.
