Ex-Major General U.M. Moham Appeals Conviction at Supreme Court

Former Major General U.M. Moham has approached the Supreme Court of Nigeria to challenge a judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal on February 9, 2026.

Moham seeks to overturn aspects of the appellate court's decision regarding his earlier appeal against a conviction by a special court martial. The court martial found him guilty of misappropriating funds belonging to the Nigerian Army, specifically related to a private limited liability company where he served as managing director.

Moham argues that the financial decisions that led to his conviction were made under the instructions of higher authorities. He has likened his trial to a witch hunt and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will grant him justice and clear his name.

The motion to appeal, filed under no CA/ABJ/Pre/ROA/CR/174MI/2026, aims to set aside the portion of the appellate court's judgment that nullified the earlier verdict from the special court martial. Members of Moham's legal team declined to comment on the ongoing case, which remains sub judice.
