Wole Oyeles Launches Mass Coalition to Empower Grassroots

Wole Oyeles, a former minister of power and steel, announced the formation of the Mass Coalition Nigeria (MCN) on Tuesday, aiming to empower grassroots communities in Nigeria. He condemned the political class for their insensitivity to the hardships faced by ordinary Nigerians, stating that the elite are engrossed in self-aggrandizement and power struggles while the masses endure the consequences of economic mismanagement and poor governance.

Oyeles highlighted that no political party adequately addresses the struggles of the masses, despite their reliance on popular support to attain power. He warned that the neglect of the people's pain could lead to significant social unrest.

Oyeles clarified that the MCN is neither anti-government nor anti-party but is a pro-people movement seeking to restore balance in the political space, which he believes is currently tilted in favor of the elite. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and valuing the grassroots to ensure national stability and cohesion.
