Dr. Gabriel Pidomson Wins ADC Governorship Primary in Rivers

Dr. Gabriel Pidomson has emerged as the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State following the party's primary election held on Saturday night.

Pidomson secured 112,086 votes, surpassing four other aspirants in the contest across 23 local government areas. The results were officially declared by Carol Obaro, the chairman of the ADC primary election committee in Rivers State, at the party's secretariat in Port Harcourt.

Sekont Davi finished in second place with 16,872 votes, while Farah Dagogo, a former governorship aspirant from the People's Democratic Party, came in third with 2,369 votes. Other candidates included Leloonu Nwibubasa with 1,476 votes, Allen Ezekiel Hart with 268 votes, and Henri Ogbonna with 546 votes.

Pidomson's victory meets the ADC's constitutional requirement of securing the highest number of votes, thereby officially declaring him the winner of the primary election and the party's gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming election scheduled for May 22, 2026.
