FG Panel Confirms Uche Nnaji Forged UNN Certificate

A Federal Government panel, established on November 23, 2025, has confirmed that Uche Nnaji, the immediate past Minister of Science and Technology, forged his degree certificate from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). The investigation, led by Rakiya Gambo, Director of the University Education Department, followed a petition to the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, and took two years to complete.

The panel's report, submitted in December 2025, revealed that Nnaji had admitted to studying Biological Sciences at UNN during the 1981/82 academic session but did not graduate, failing a key course (Virology MCB 431AB). Despite this, he allegedly obtained a forged certificate claiming graduation in July 1985.

The investigation included document reviews, interviews with UNN officials, and verification of academic records, ultimately confirming that Nnaji was not listed among the graduates of 1985.
