Cooking gas scarcity in Lagos and Abeokuta has led to a significant price increase, with residents now paying up to 190 naira per kilogram for refilling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The National President of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM), Olatunbosun Oladapo, attributed the scarcity to multiple disruptions but assured that supply remains stable.

The recent resumption of product lifting by Dangote Refinery is expected to stabilize the supply in the coming days. The withdrawal of a private importer struggling to compete with Dangote's pricing is another factor contributing to the scarcity.
