Marketers Explain Reasons Behind High Cooking Gas Prices in Nigeria, Consumers Advised to Buy Directly

Cooking gas prices in Nigeria have soared due to factors like opportunistic dealers and temporary supply disruptions, according to the National President of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers, Oladapo Olatunbosun. He cited a recent maintenance issue at the Dangote Refinery and a PENGASSAN strike as key reasons for the price hike.

Olatunbosun advised consumers to buy directly to avoid inflated prices and assured that the surge is temporary. Nigeria's LPG consumption has significantly increased, making the market highly competitive and sensitive to supply disruptions.
