NOCACO Forum Highlights Dangers of Substandard Cables

On Saturday in Kaduna, the Northern Cable Processing and Manufacturing Company (NOCACO) hosted its 2026 Customer Forum, focusing on the dangers posed by substandard electrical cables. Mr.

Safiyanu Yahaya, a state officer of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), delivered a lecture on the hazards of such cables, stating that they are responsible for numerous electrical fires and significant economic losses. He emphasized that the quality of electrical cables is crucial for safety and reliability in various installations.

Yahaya urged Nigerians to prioritize quality over cost when selecting cables. Engineer John Audu, State Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Technologist in Engineering (NATE), echoed this sentiment, noting that the choice of electrical cables can significantly impact safety and efficiency.

NOCACO's Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Tunde Orija, highlighted the forum as an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with customers and promote quality in cable manufacturing.
