Nigeria's 36 states shared N4.43 trillion in federal account allocations from January to July 2025, with oil-rich states like Delta, Rivers, and Lagos receiving the highest amounts. The FAAC report revealed that Delta State received the highest net allocation of N361.23 billion, followed by Rivers, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa.

Lagos, as Nigeria's commercial nerve center, stood out as the highest-earning non-oil producing state. Dr.

Muda Yusuf, CEO of CPPE, highlighted the importance of economic diversification at the subnational level. Northern states like Kano, Katsina, Borno, and Jigawa received smaller shares of the FAAC allocations compared to the oil-rich southern states.
