FAAN and Bolt Launch E-Hailing Services at Airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Bolt have established an operational framework to initiate e-hailing services at airports immediately. Henry Agbebire, FAAN's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, announced this resolution on Thursday in Abuja, highlighting its significance in maintaining airport integrity and security while offering passengers the convenience of e-hailing services.

Agbebire acknowledged the public's patience during the transition period aimed at creating a sustainable operational framework for e-hailing at FAAN-managed airports. He noted that FAAN has been addressing challenges related to commercial and e-hailing vehicles for nearly a decade, including issues like passenger solicitation, unregulated operations, and safety concerns.

To improve management, FAAN introduced the Airport Car Hire Rank Management System (ACHRAMS), which is designed for airport car-hire services and is not a competitor to e-hailing platforms. Agbebire clarified that the fares discussed recently were not new rates imposed by FAAN but existed independently.
