FAAN Confirms No Fire at Lagos Airport Terminal 2

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) issued an update regarding a reported fire incident at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Henry Agbebire, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated that there was no actual fire at the terminal.
The smoke that was observed was attributed to the discharge of the terminal’s FM-200 fire suppression system. FAAN is currently investigating the cause of the activation of this fire suppression system.
Following the incident, normal airport operations have resumed. FAAN expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of passengers, airlines, airport users, and all stakeholders while reiterating its commitment to the safety and security of all airport operations.
