FAAN Enhances Airport Surveillance Amid Ebola Fears

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced heightened surveillance at airports across the nation in response to renewed fears of an Ebola outbreak reported in Central Africa. Henri Agbebir, the Director of Public Affairs at FAAN, stated that the agency is collaborating with Port Health Services and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to implement stringent health screening measures for passengers arriving from high-risk regions.

Enhanced screening procedures are now officially in place, where travelers exhibiting symptoms associated with Ebola will be promptly isolated for further examination in accordance with national and international health safety protocols. FAAN reassured the public that despite the health concerns emerging from Central Africa, Nigerian airports remain safe.

The agency has also urged passengers to remain calm, cooperate with health officials during screening, and report any unusual health conditions. Currently, there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in Nigeria, and FAAN is committed to safeguarding public health and maintaining safe airport operations.
