Facebook Desktop Users Face Widespread Access Issues

On Sunday morning, Facebook users reported significant issues accessing the desktop version of the platform, with many encountering error messages stating their accounts were temporarily unavailable due to site issues. Users attempted to log in but were met with notifications indicating that their accounts were currently unavailable.

Reports of the outage surged on Downdetector, showing a sharp increase in complaints shortly after 9 AM. The issues appeared to affect various aspects of the platform, with 32 percent of complaints related to login issues, 26 percent concerning problems with the news feed timeline, and 22 percent reporting server disruptions.

Users took to social media, with one user, Kiera, posting about the outage, while others, like Athan Hilaki and Elva C. Withrow, expressed their frustrations online.

Despite the desktop issues, the mobile app reportedly continued to function normally. As of the time of the report, Meta had not issued an official statement regarding the cause of the disruption.
