Faleke Receives Nomination for Public Finance Oversight Award

Hon. James Faleke, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, acknowledged Blueprint Newspapers for nominating him as a recipient of the 2025 Efficient Public Finance Oversight Award.

He received the award letter during a meeting at the newspaper's office on Tuesday, led by Vice Chairman and Chair of the Editorial Board, Hajiya Zainab Okino. Faleke expressed that the recognition would motivate him and his team to improve their efforts in ensuring proper oversight of public finances.

He noted that while their work is not perfect, it lays a solid foundation for Nigeria's future. Faleke emphasized the need for continued institutional and infrastructural development and expressed hope that the award would encourage ongoing improvements in legislative scrutiny of the government's fiscal framework, particularly regarding revenue generation, taxation, and expenditure.
