Adeyinka Gladi Falusi Receives Hallmarks of Labour Award

Adeyinka Gladi Falusi, a prominent Nigerian haematologist and geneticist, has been honored with the Hallmarks of Labour Role Model Award by the Hallmark Labour Foundation (HLF). This recognition, announced by HLF Executive Secretary Patricia Otuedon Arawor, acknowledges Falusi's outstanding contributions to medical research and national development.

The award is given to individuals whose professional achievements significantly impact the nation's progress. Falusi's pioneering work in human genetics, especially her research on sickle cell disease and alpha thalassaemia, has greatly advanced healthcare in Nigeria and Africa.

Former President of the Nigerian Academy of Medical Sciences, Oladapo Ashiru, praised her as a trailblazer in human genetics. The event, marking HLF's 29th anniversary, attracted distinguished attendees, including former Commonwealth Secretary Emeka Anyaoku.

Falusi expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of building role models to guide Nigeria's youth and advocating for greater inclusion of women in leadership roles across academia and research.
