Family Homes Funds Rebrands to Tackle Nigeria's Housing Crisis

Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) has unveiled a new corporate identity as it expands its housing finance operations to address Nigeria's estimated 15 million-unit housing deficit. Since commencing operations in 2018, FHFL has financed over 15,900 homes, created 104,000 jobs, and established a presence across 70 project sites in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The organization has more than 18,000 homes in its development pipeline. Chairman Ademola Adebise emphasized the need for stronger institutions to mobilize capital for large-scale housing delivery.
Managing Director and CEO Abdul Mutallab Mukhtar stated that FHFL is attracting private capital to reduce reliance on government funding. He noted that the housing deficit estimate was based on assessments involving various stakeholders.
Mukhtar highlighted the importance of partnerships with state governments to lower housing costs and improve affordability. FHFL operates through multiple funds, including the Affordable Housing Fund and Home Ownership Fund, to provide blended financing to eligible homebuyers.
