Fani-Kayode Redeployed as Nigeria's Ambassador to South Africa

Femi Fani-Kayode has been redeployed from his position in Germany to serve as Nigeria's Ambassador-designate to South Africa, following a request approved by President Bola Tinubu. This announcement was made on Thursday, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming the decision.

Fani-Kayode expressed a preference for the South African post over Germany, citing personal comfort and a desire to serve in a country that shares Nigeria's values and beliefs in international affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, noted that the request for redeployment was formally submitted and approved.

Fani-Kayode also addressed rumors suggesting that Germany had rejected his appointment, labeling these claims as false and malicious, and indicated plans to pursue legal action against those spreading such reports. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the Ministry for the opportunity to serve Nigeria in South Africa.
