Umaru Bago Secures APC Niger Governorship Ticket Unopposed

Umaru Bago has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket for Niger State unopposed, affirming his candidacy for a second term in the 2027 governorship election. The affirmation took place at the APC secretariat in Minna, where Bago received unanimous endorsement from APC card-carrying members across 277 wards in the state.

The Niger State chairman of the APC primary election committee, Danladi Moham, confirmed that the committee was sent from the APC national headquarters to conduct the governorship primary in Niger State. A motion was moved by Senator Moham Musa to adopt Bago as the consensus sole candidate for the APC governorship election in 2027.

Additionally, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Afiniki Dauda, represented Gurara in the affirmation process. Bago expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and assured citizens of his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the residents of Niger State.
