Boko Haram Kills 15 Farmers in Borno State Attack

On Wednesday evening, at least 15 farmers and firewood gatherers were killed in an attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. The victims were ambushed while performing their daily activities around Ala and Musune wards.
Initially, 18 individuals had gone to the farms, but only 15 bodies were recovered and buried on Thursday, with three others still missing as of Friday. Nahum Daso, the Public Relations Officer of the Borno State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that security authorities were gathering information.
Local sources reported that the victims, including young and married men, were executed at close range after being bound. Some bodies were decapitated, complicating identification.
Community members later retrieved the bodies for burial according to Islamic rites. The attack has heightened concerns about the safety of rural residents in Borno State, particularly those reliant on farming.
Amnesty International condemned the killings, calling them a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
