Father Demands Investigation into Daughter's Death in Rivers

Kehind Ajibad is calling for an investigation by the Rivers State Police Command into the circumstances surrounding the death of his 16-year-old daughter, Favour Ajibad, a student at Orugbum Community Secondary School. Favour died on May 13, 2026, under suspicious circumstances after being taken to a private hospital.

Ajibad alleges that his daughter was in the care of a cleric against her wishes and that he was not informed of her illness until it was too late. He claims that Favour had shown no visible signs of illness when he last saw her at school on May 11, 2026.

The father also expressed concerns about changes in his daughter's behavior since she began attending the pastor's church in 2025. Civil rights advocate Samuel Robinson has urged the police to ensure a thorough investigation, as the family believes there has been pressure to settle the matter without accountability.
