Fatal Crash in Gombe State Kills Two Due to Faulty Handbrake on Heavy-Duty Truck

A fatal road traffic incident occurred in Gombe State, resulting in the death of two individuals and serious injuries to six others. The accident involved a heavy-duty truck loaded with bags of rice that collided with other vehicles due to an improperly engaged handbrake.

Yusuf Danbayo, a senior special assistant on security matters, confirmed the incident and stated that the truck driver has been arrested and is in police custody. The injured victims were rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe for emergency medical care.

Investigations are ongoing, and the driver is expected to face prosecution for negligence.
