Fayemi And I Started It Together — Amaechi Reveals How Opposition Coalition Began

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed that he and former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, initiated the formation of an opposition coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Amaechi revealed during a discussion titled "Weekend Politics" that the coalition began with private conversations between him and Fayemi, which later expanded to include other political heavyweights.

The coalition, now operating under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform, includes prominent figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Senate President David Mark. Amaechi emphasized the need to create a middle class and improve the economic situation for Nigerians amidst rising insecurity.

Reflecting on his political career, Amaechi highlighted his achievements as the youngest Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and his tenure without facing impeachment.
