Fayemi Breaks Silence on Forming New ADC Coalition with Amaechi, “I Remain Committed”

Former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has refuted claims of forming a new African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition with former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi. In a statement issued by his office in Abuja, Fayemi emphasized his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The rebuttal came in response to a viral statement attributed to Amaechi suggesting their involvement in the coalition. Fayemi's spokesperson, Ahmad Sajoh, warned against attributing false statements to public figures for malicious purposes.

Sajoh reiterated that Fayemi remains loyal to the APC and would make any decision to leave the party public. Fayemi had previously joined forces with major opposition leaders, but his recent criticism of the President Tinubu administration indicates he is unlikely to support them in the 2023 general election.
