Fayemi Honors Late Bishop Adebiyi at Tribute Event

Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti State, honored the late Anglican Bishop Awelewa Adebiyi, a pioneer bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Lagos West, during a book presentation event held on Saturday. The event, which took place at the Archbishop Vinning Memorial Cathedral Hall, attracted prominent Anglican priests and featured a 320-page book authored by veteran journalist Dare Babarinsa and reviewed by Bishop Dapo Asaju.

Fayemi praised Adebiyi for his lifelong dedication to the church and his impactful work in Ekiti State, despite facing challenges such as an armed robbery incident. The event also highlighted Adebiyi's commitment to theological education in Nigeria.

Current Bishop of the Diocese, James Odedeji, acknowledged the difficulties in sustaining Adebiyi's legacy but expressed confidence in continuing his good work. Other attendees included Chief Segun Osunkey and Bishop Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi, who recognized Adebiyi as one of the best bishops in the world.
