INEC Confirms APC's Votes in Kwali Polling Unit

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) addressed discrepancies in the reported votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kwali polling unit during the area council elections. Initially, a report claimed that the APC scored 1,219 votes despite only having 345 registered voters and 213 accredited voters.

Idri, a resident electoral commissioner for the FCT, confirmed that the actual count was 121 votes. The error occurred when a ballot count was mistakenly recorded as 122 votes, leading to a recount that corrected the figure to 121.

INEC emphasized that the accurate results were subsequently uploaded and that the manipulation techniques alleged were impossible under the current management architecture.
