Gabaya Defects from PDP to APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Gabaya, the current Chairman of Bwari Area Council, has officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ernest Agada.

Gabaya stated that his decision was aimed at strengthening development efforts within the council and aligning with the federal government as part of a political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections. He was elected as the council chairman on the PDP platform in 2019 and is expected to complete his second tenure in June.

Gabaya is also seeking to contest for a House of Representatives seat representing the AMAC/Bwari constituency in the 2027 elections. He emphasized that his defecting was not hostile towards former party members and expressed optimism for credible elections in 2027, pledging strong support for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming electoral cycle.
