Bwari Area Council Chairman John Gabaya Joins APC

Mr. John Gabaya, the current chairman of Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This decision was announced through a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ernest Agada, on Wednesday.

Gabaya, who was elected on the PDP platform in 2019 and is currently serving his second term, aims to boost council development and foster a significant realignment ahead of the 2027 elections. He emphasized that his decision was reached after extensive consultations and is intended to embrace the APC platform for the advancement of peace, unity, and development in the Bwari Area Council.

Gabaya expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure and reassured that his defection does not signify enmity with his former associates in the PDP, but rather a broader perspective focused on collective interests for the council's development.
