FCT Police Chief Supports Families of 79 Fallen Officers

On April 2, 2026, Ahmad Sanusi, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), presented cheques to the families of 79 fallen police officers at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja. This initiative is part of a welfare support program aimed at assisting the next of kin of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The presentation was aligned with the activities marking the 2026 National Police Day, which underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of its personnel and their families. Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the command, noted that the leadership vision of Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu prioritizes honoring the sacrifices of fallen officers.

Sanusi conveyed heartfelt condolences to the beneficiaries and reassured them of the continued support from the police force, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the deceased officers will not be forgotten.
