IGP Disu Presents ₦2.43bn to Families of Deceased Officers

On Wednesday, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, presented cheques totaling ₦2,435,421,584 to the families of 1,075 deceased police officers in Abuja. This disbursement is part of the group life assurance scheme and the IGP family welfare scheme, covering outstanding payments from the years 2018 to 2026.

Disu described this event as the first official cheque presentation to the families of deceased officers, highlighting the commitment of the police force to support the families of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation. He extended condolences to the widows, children, and parents of the fallen officers and assured that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) would continue to stand by the families left behind.

The IGP also noted plans to deploy modern technology to improve record management and streamline the claims process to ensure timely and transparent delivery of benefits to the families of officers.
