Kuje Area Council's Shekwolo Launches Key Committees

On September 20, 2026, Hon. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, the executive chairman of Kuje Area Council, inaugurated two significant committees aimed at addressing local governance issues. The first is a five-man Chieftaincy Matters Committee tasked with examining and making recommendations regarding the ongoing chieftaincy dispute in Gwargwada chiefdom.

The second is a 13-man Kuje Area Council Scholarship Committee, which is responsible for creating a transparent, credible, and merit-based scholarship process. This committee is expected to identify and screen deserving indigent but brilliant students across the council’s 10 political wards.

Hon. Shekwolo emphasized the importance of fairness, transparency, and accountability in the scholarship process, stating that it would be guided by principles of merit, equity, and integrity, with a strict prohibition on favoritism and political influence. He urged both committees to fulfill their responsibilities diligently for the benefit of the Kuje area council's residents.
