NSCDC Warns Against Post-Election Unrest in FCT

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the leadership of Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has issued a warning against any attempts to disrupt public peace following the recently concluded area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Dr. Odumosu conducted an extensive monitoring tour of several polling units on Saturday, describing the electoral exercise as hitch-free and assuring residents of their safety.

Although no immediate breakdown of law and order was anticipated, he confirmed that security operations remain fully mobilized to contain any threats to public safety. The NSCDC is collaborating with the Nigeria Police Force and other agencies to deter individuals or groups that may attempt to incite violence and undermine the electoral outcome.

The agency has sustained patrols to ensure a visible presence of security personnel across strategic locations, sending a clear warning to potential troublemakers. The successful conduct of the elections is viewed as a litmus test for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
