APC Wins Kwali Area Council Chairmanship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in the chairmanship election for Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning. Daniel Nuhu, the APC candidate, received a total of 17,032 votes, defeating Haruna Pai of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who obtained 8,575 votes, placing second.

The election was conducted across ten wards in Kwali on Saturday, February 21. The APC has recorded victories in three out of four area councils for which results have been released so far.

The party had previously secured wins in AMAC and Bwari, while results for Gwagwalada are still pending. Additionally, Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to the president, noted that the ongoing Ramadan fast contributed to a reduced physical turnout at polling units during the election.
