APC Wins Three FCT Councils; PDP Secures One Seat

In the recent chairmanship elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved victories in three out of four contested councils, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won one seat. The APC's Christoph Maikalangu emerged victorious in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) with 40,295 votes, defeating the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate who received 12,109 votes and the PDP candidate who garnered 3,398 votes.

In the Bwari Area Council, APC's Joshua Ishaku won with 18,466 votes, followed by ADC's candidate with 4,254 votes and Zenith Labour Party's (ZLP) candidate with 3,515 votes. The APC also secured the Kwali Area Council with Daniel Nuhu receiving 17,032 votes against PDP's Haruna Pai, who received 8,575 votes.

The PDP claimed victory in the Gwagwalada Area Council, where Moham Kasim received 22,165 votes, defeating APC's Yahaya Shehu, who scored 17,788 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to announce results for two remaining councils soon.
