NSCDC Arrests Three for Vandalizing NNPC Pipeline in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, arrested three suspects for the alleged vandalism of an NNPC petroleum pipeline in Dafa, Kwali Area Council, Abuja. Commandant Olusola Odumosu announced the arrests during a press briefing at the corps’ Kwali Divisional Office.

The operation followed days of intelligence-led surveillance by the NSCDC tactical team, aided by local vigilante members. The suspects, identified as Maitama Inuwa (30), Yahuza Danlami (32), and Yasir Abdulrahman (26), were apprehended on September 20, 2026, while attempting to retrieve abandoned sections of the pipeline they had previously cut.

Inuwa was the truck driver of a vehicle used to transport the vandalized pipes, while Danlami served as the motor boy, and Abdulrahman represented the alleged buyers. The NSCDC recovered a long commercial truck loaded with vandalized pipes and 17 pieces of the pipes.

Preliminary investigations revealed four additional suspects at large, indicating a possible organized criminal network involved in pipeline vandalism.
