Olododo's Water Projects Transform Life in Ilorin Communities

Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo has facilitated a series of water projects in Ilorin, Kwara State, significantly improving water access for local communities. Ajobi Ajape, a resident of Baraje street near Shao Garage, noted that her grandchildren no longer return tired from fetching water, thanks to the new solar-powered boreholes.

Previously, residents across various communities, including Agbeyangi and IdiApa-Aiyetoro, faced severe water scarcity, often walking long distances or relying on contaminated sources. UNICEF's 2021 WASH-NORM assessment revealed that only 74% of Kwara's population had access to basic water supply, with a mere 5% having safely managed water.

The introduction of solar-powered boreholes has provided reliable water sources closer to home, easing the daily struggle for water. Sulaiman Magaji from Agbeyangi Damale highlighted that the community's previous borehole was inadequate for its growing population, making the new facilities essential for their livelihood.
