Dan Ngerem Foundation Ends 50-Year Water Crisis in Urualla

The commissioning of a 68,000-litre-capacity solar-powered borehole by Dan Ngerem Sports Foundation at the Urualla Divisional Police Headquarters in Ideato North Council Area, Imo State, has ended a 50-year water crisis in the region. The event, which took place recently, brought jubilation among residents who have struggled with water scarcity since 1976.

Chief Dan Ngerem, represented by Mr. F.I.D.A. Illobi, emphasized the foundation's commitment to improving living standards.

The borehole was handed over to Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Garba Bosso, by Engr. Chibuike Onyejietu, FNSE, the project engineer. CP Bosso praised the initiative, stating it would enhance the welfare of police personnel and urged others to follow suit.

He also initiated a confidence-building patrol to encourage community cooperation with police for crime prevention, highlighting the importance of information sharing for maintaining peace and security.
