FEC Okays N142bn For Six Modern Bus Terminals Nationwide

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction of six modern bus terminals across Nigeria, totaling N142 billion. The Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali, made this announcement after the FEC meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.

The contract was awarded to Messrs Planet Project Limited, with terminals to be located in Abeokuta, Gombe, Kano, Lokoja, Onitsha, and Ewu in Edo State. The Minister highlighted the economic viability and regional connectivity these terminals would bring, addressing the needs of millions of Nigerian commuters and reducing crime, road traffic accidents, and the proliferation of arms along highways.

This initiative aims to improve road safety, enhance passenger comfort, stimulate economic activity, and promote efficiency in Nigeria's transport system. The completion of these facilities is expected to significantly improve the overall passenger experience and safety in the country.
