FG to build CNG stations in 6 geo-political zones

Transportation Minister Senator Said Ahmed Alkali announced the Federal Government's plan to construct Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria. This initiative is part of the newly approved National Land Transport Policy by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to regulate the road transport sector and enhance safety.

Alkali emphasized the importance of the road transport sector and the need to tap into its potential through a strong regulatory framework. The pilot project, supported by the World Bank, will include the construction of bus terminals with CNG refilling centers and increased security measures to improve road safety.

Alkali highlighted the government's commitment to enforcing the mandatory use of passenger manifests for all buses departing from terminals, whether operated by the government or private entities.
