Nigeria Offers 50% Train Fare Discount for Eid-el-Kabir

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a 50% fare discount on train services operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) as part of measures to ease transportation costs during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. This discount will take effect on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and will run until Monday, June 1, 2026.

The announcement was made by Engr. Funsho Adebiyi, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport.

During this period, passengers who had previously purchased tickets at the full fare will be entitled to a 50% rebate for reusable train rides on June 1, 2026. The train schedules and timetables will remain as previously advertised.

The Federal Ministry of Transport expressed appreciation for the continued support of Nigerians and extended Eid Mubarak wishes to Muslim passengers.
