Nigeria Government Commends UNDP for Development Support

On Thursday, the Nigerian federal government commended the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for its support in various development programs. Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila made these remarks during a courtesy visit from UNDP Resident Representative Elsi Attafuah at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Gbajabiamila affirmed the government's commitment to leveraging UNDP's expertise to accelerate reforms, particularly under President Tinubu's administration. He highlighted the importance of integrating local content into the oil industry and enhancing female participation in governance.

Attafuah acknowledged the cordial relationship between the UNDP and Nigeria over the past two years, commending President Tinubu's transformative leadership. She emphasized the UNDP's role in poverty reduction, education, agriculture, and mining sectors, and expressed the agency's readiness to collaborate further, particularly in the education and energy sectors.
